SportsZone is an award-winning student-run organization that produces a monthly show that
features athletes, coaches, and sporting events of RIT’s sports teams. SportsZone is made up
of reporters, directors, editors, photographers, graphic designers, and a marketing team.
As Creative and Marketing Director at SportsZone I organize meetings and oversee a team of five
other student workers. I offer suggestions to designers, plan promotional events, and organize
as well as execute design and promotional projects.
For the 2015 - 2016 Men's and Women's hockey season we decided to create both posters and senior
cards to honor the seniors and give out at the last game of the season. I organized and directed
the photoshoots of the players. Photography was done by Mitch Golding. The designs were a
collaboration between myself, Jessica Cook, and Kyle Laidlaw. We wanted to keep the design
consistent for both Men’s and Woman’s teams and wanted to showcase the action, speed, and power
that goes into playing hockey.
Social media posts are designed and posted for every game and episode released,
trying to create a bigger SportsZone fan following within the RIT community.
This poster was created to try and promote the use of the SportsZone app. We used images of
star athletes to promote the idea that they use the app so you should too. The photoshoot was
art directed by myself and images were taken by Josh Barber.
2014-2015 Women’s senior cards designed by myself and photos were taken by Josh Barber.
This SportsZone promotional poster was hung throughout RIT's campus.
